Mokai's Performs Songs from His CD "Unearthed" at Caffeine Coffee Bar in Nashville on November 24th 9 PM

Mokai will blow you away with his fingerstyle guitar...one reviewer says it's like: "lightening in a bottle." His earthy, eclectic, acoustic-blues sound and clever rhymes will have you tappin' your feet, smilin', cryin' and cryin' out for more Mokai. Don't take my word for it, listen to some samples at:

Mokai is well known in the SF Bay Area acoustic music scene for his intelligent songs that speak to your inner rebel child. Using a variety of styles "unearthed" from American roots music, he weaves elements of Jazz, traditional Folk and Blues, to create an original sound: Percussive bass and dynamic treble lines set the groove for songs driven by strong, poetic lyrics.

Mokai's debut CD "Unearthed," released in May of 2003, features twelve of his original tunes and an expert team of musicians including Todd Sickafoose (Noe Venable Trio, CRATER) on acoustic bass, Mark Growden on Sax, Matt Eakle (David Grisman Band) on flute, Jazz trumpeter John Capobianco, and vocal performances by Erika Luckett, Heather Davison (Hanes Family, Loretta Lynch), and Jessie Turner. The CD is enjoying airplay on college and public radio stations in the SF Bay Area and several nearby "backdoor" markets.
