MUSIC PUBLISHER SEEKING SONGS
October 31, 2002, Hollywood, CA -- Longtime music publisher Janet Fisher will be in person, screening songs for various producers and her own company, at the Songwriters Guild in Hollywood, on consecutive Saturdays, November 16 and November 23, from 11am - 4pm.
Fisher will also have an active industry guest at each event, from a well-known music network one week, another from a respected Hollywood film company the next, and a few other surprise resources available.
"The truth is," Fisher states, "that songwriters want cuts first -- they want to have their music used in a validating way. There are lots of small opportunities out there that can lead to major opportunities if a writer/artist can remember that it's also a business.
Our two Saturdays try to show how the bridge might be crossed by a worthy talent -- and prove it by finding a use for the work, or at least a new relationship with a real professional in our arena."
The Saturday events include a mentoring session, three times slots for song pitching, and two sessions of Q&A. The cost is $50.00 for either Saturday, and limited 50 spots per day, so RSVPs are required via the Songwriters Guild in Hollywood (323) 462-1109, or from Goodnight Kiss (323) 969-9993.
"Writers and artists come from everywhere and anywhere. All we ask for, in an artist or a song, is quality -- and meeting a specific request with an appropriate response."
Fisher has longtime, respectable credits. She guarantees that attendees will receive more than their ten dollars per hour's worth. Inquiries might be made to the Songwriters Guild (323) 462-1108, or Goodnight Kiss Music (323) 969-9993, or by visiting the Event website:
